Christa Shute
General Manager
A dedicated fitness and outdoor enthusiast, Christa's passion
for life is evident whether she’s biking up a
mountain, riding the back roads of Vermont or teaching
a spinning class at her local health club. With all
the energy she pours into these activities, Christa
still takes time to appreciate the quieter, simple things
that Mother Nature offers: the beauty of a leaf, the
wonder of a snowflake or the tracks of an animal. It’s
these simple things that she believes are the keys to
happiness. It should come as no surprise then that she
is working at a company that uses one of Mother Nature’s
gifts—the wind—to help others power their
homes and protect the environment.
Christa first learned about wind energy while in high school
reading Cervantes’ Don Quixote. Although Don Quixote
was battling windmills because he thought they were giants,
Christa saw great opportunity to harness an immense energy
source. It was only a matter of making it accessible to all.
With wind energy now a mainstream energy source, that day
has certainly come.
Completely at home in an entrepreneurial setting, this
native Vermonter brings Earth Turbines more than a decade
of small business ownership and executive management
experience developing technology and products for the
major appliance industry. She holds an approved patent
related to electronic gas cooking controls. Christa
has served on the Board of Directors for InventVermont,
a non-profit that promotes and assists individual inventors
and entrepreneurs around the state.
As general manager for Earth Turbines, Christa is not
venturing into unfamiliar territory. She’s merely
putting her entrepreneurial skills, energy and experience
to developing the next major appliance: the home wind
turbine. |
