Doug MacDonald
Engineering Technician

Working at AllEarth Renewables brings Doug closer to his love for wind and other renewable energy resources that began when his grandfather gave him his first pinwheel as a child.

Doug has chosen a career path that has allowed him to follow his dedication to renewable energy. He studied wind and renewable energy resources at the University of Maine (Orono) where he received his bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences. After college, Doug worked in the electrical controls design field and moved into the wind energy resources field giving him more than a decade in the energy industry. He has spent the last 7 of those years working on wind, solar and hybrid power system projects in Antarctica, Russia, Northern Yukon, the Northwest Territory and many locations throughout the United States.

Doug enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and family hiking, skiing and gardening. He spends most of his free time working the land and raising farm animals at his house in the hills of Lincoln.

Before joining AllEarth Renewables, Doug worked for Lucent Technologies and Northern Power Systems as an electrical controls designer and field technician.
