What is Green Energy?
 Oil
Oil
contributes about 40% of the global emissions of carbon dioxide
(CO2), the major greenhouse gas. Per energy unit,
oil produces less CO2 than
traditional coal-fired power plants, but more than natural gas.
In addition to its limited supply and fluctuating price on global
markets, it is oil’s use as a transportation fuel that makes
reducing its CO2 emissions a major global issue.
